Ms. Gasper

I was born and raised in Lakeville, MN. I went to University of Minnesota-Duluth for four years and majored in Elementary and Middle School Education with a mathematics concentration. I gradutated college in May of 2012 and am a licensed teacher for grades K-6 and 5-8 Math. I worked at Southwest Middle School in Albert Lea, MN during the 2012-2013 school year as the math interventionist and taught one section of 7th grade pre-algebra. During my first year of teaching I was nominated by one of my students for Teacher of the Year. I then was welcomed back for the 2013-2014 school year as one of the primary 7th grade pre-algebra teachers at Southwest Middle School. I then moved back to Lakeville and substitute taught in Farmington, Lakeville, South Washington County, and Rosemount-Eagan-Apple Valley starting in September 2014. In December 2014 I accepted a 3rd grade job at Paideia Academy in Apple Valley. I am teaching 3rd grade at Paideia Academy for the 2015-2016 academic year.

I first knew I wanted to be a teacher when I started working at YMCA Day Camp Streefland in Lakeville, MN. I went to camp there as a child and loved being outdoors and the activities that were provided. I went through all of the programs and then became a "helper" for the counselors. I got to work with mainly 4-6 year olds and loved their curiousity for life. I then became a counselor there and just finished my eighth summer as a counselor there during the summer of 2015. I created the Princess, Dragons, and Fairies specialty camp for girls and boys ages 4-7. I also was in charge of the Leaders In Training Camp, helping 12-13 year olds prepare for their week of being a helper with the counselors. During the 2014 and 2015  summers I worked in the office at Camp Streefland.

When I am not doing school work I enjoy being outside and spending time with my family. I love rollerblading, relaxing in the sun, and being active with friends. I grew up playing sports and have coached 7th grade volleyball. I have been busy planning my wedding which is next summer!
